About Japan: A Teacher's Resource
This comprehensive site provides educators and specialists in Japan Studies a space for sharing, discussing and developing teaching ideas and resources about Japan, especially as they relate to K-12 classrooms. The site features thought-provoking essays; classroom-ready lesson plans; an area for asking and answering questions; resources including historical documents , maps and images; and member profiles. In addition to user-generated content,the editorial team develops original materials organized around different themes.  Members are invited to contribute their own materials and join the discussion (membership is free and open to all).

Association of Teachers of Japanese
This is an international, non-profit, group that works to promote the study of Japanese culture and language.

Irasshai, Georgia Public Broadcasting
Georgia Public Broadcasting's Japanese Language and Culture Distance Learning Course allows students, teachers and visitors to voyage to Japan through the Web. The "Launch Pad" includes a list of dozens of major topics and subtopics with links to sites and material related to the various topics.

Japan Forum
Japan Forum is an organization focused on the promotion of cultural exchange and mutual understanding among people of different cultures, specifically on Japanese language education in elementary and secondary schools. It offers information on the daily lives of Japanese children, lesson plans, curriculum guidelines, teaching materials, and news on Japanese language education.

Japan Information Network
Maintained by the Japan Center for Intercultural Communications (JCIC), this site offers statistics, regional information, and links to other sites in Japan.

Japan Society, Inc.
The Japan Society is an American institution that promotes understanding between the United States and Japan. In addition to sponsoring numerous cultural and educational events in New York, the Society has an extensive library and educational resources that can be bought or borrowed.

Kids Web Japan
Part of the Japan Information Network and managed by the Japan Center for Intercultural Communications, this colorful site for school children, with many graphics and photographs, provides basic information on many aspects of Japan. It includes facts about daily life, history, economy, and other topics, monthly news of interest to kids, links to other sites, games, and an interactive form to ask questions about Japan.

Ohio State Institute for Japanese Studies
Includes several pages of links to sites related to topics of interest to students and teachers (e.g., arts, food, places, popular culture, theater, etc.). Connected to this site is a visual introduction to Japan, featuring 77 photo images showing various places and peoples and a visual literacy exercise which enables students to learn about aspects of Japanese geography, climate, and culture by viewing a set of fifteen woodblock prints.

The Sadako Film Project
Site of a project of Informed Democracy, a non-profit educational organization that produces media for young audiences including the videos Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes and How to Fold a Paper Crane. Offers information about the videos, the story of Sadako, instructions for folding a paper crane, and related educational resources.
