Unwilling to see her elderly father drafted into the Imperial Army, the young Mulan disguises herself as a man and takes her father s place in battle. For the next ten years she shows remarkable skill as a warrior and a leader. She rises through the ranks to become a famous general, and is honored by the Emperor himself. Her true identity remains hidden from her comrades-in-arms until her discharge. Upon her return home, she reveals herself to be a female, and offers words of wisdom on the loyalty and bravery of women. This DVD takes the beautiful artworks by Mr. Zhang from the original story book and adds animation, music, narration and subtitles. The dialog is in Mandarin and English. The subtitles are in English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Hanyu Pinyin.
