Abstract:

Four vignettes of Philippine life are offered as evidence of the need for fundamental change in the Philippines. Included are slum dwellers of Manila, prostitutes near a U.S. military base, tenant farmers on Negros, and peasants bypassed by the march of development on Mindanao.
