Abstract:

Lalon Fakir's impressive oeuvre of folk songs are filled with profound lyrics and have found a close following in Bangladesh and in the West Bengal of India, even a hundred years after his death. Although little is known about Lalon's personal life, this film takes an intimate look at the philosophies of Lalon through his lyrics. Among the Bauls, the troubadours of Bengal, Lalon continues to be a great source of influence.
