Abstract:

Young women in China feel the pressure to have expensive surgery to look more 'modern' and 'Wesernized.' Meaning, they are putting their health and their families financial security at risk to lengthen their legs, enlarge their breasts, and their eyes changed to look less Asian.  Surgeons are more than happy to exploit this market and are getting rich off of these unrealistic 'beauty' expectations.
