Abstract:

The large influx of migrant workers from South East Asia in recent year has altered the racial composition of Hong Kong; however, there is little contact or understanding between the Hong Kong Chinese and these "foreigners". Invisible Women takes a look at the life of three Indian women.Vandana, an outspoken young barrister, was born and raised in Hong Kong. Preeti and Rehka, two young women from Bombay, came to work as domestic workers. These three women's backgrounds and experiences are extremely different. However, as Indians, they are all treated by mainstream society as "others".--Visible Record
