Abstract:

This drama by South Korea's Kim Ki-Duk (The Isle, Bad Guy) follows the lives of three teenagers living in a small Korean town on the outskirts of an American military base in the 1970's. Chang-guk (Yan Dong-guen) is the son of a Korean bar waitress and an African-American soldier who longs to go to the U.S. Eun-ok (Ban Min-jeong), who has a cataract in her left eye, sells her body to an American soldier in exchange for money for eye surgery. The silent Ji-hum (Kim Young-min) is unable to deal with his disabled Korean War veteran father. None of these characters seem to realize that they have all been disabled by the Korean War.
