Abstract:

The Shinto materials are arranged topically to emphasize the various practices of Shinto belief including a discussion of the kami, the shrine, the priesthood, and special festivals. The Buddhist materials are arranged historically so that the competing philosophies can be traced over the centuries. Excellent as a supplement to an introductory course on Asian religions.
