Abstract:

"A Chinese New Year's celebration for children. Produced and directed by Diane Li, 'The Dragon Wore Tennis Shoes,' (starring Gum Lung, the 120 foot Golden Dragon) is a lively documentary of the highlights of the annual San Francisco Chinese New Year's Parade. To the integrated sound of firecrackers, gongs and American marching bands, Chinese tigers, lions and children parade through the darkened streets of Chinatown to welcome each new year. Meanwhile, dragon runners assemble for the spectacular finale -- the awesome evening run of the fiery Gum Lung! Celebrate with us the Year of the Dragon!"
